Pastor’s Newsletter: Summer Season 2024

Summer 2024

Our Board of Trustees has been hard at work over the past two plus years navigating two key capital projects that I wanted to update you on. The church’s decision to replace our 50+ year roof ($140,000) was made in 2022 along with the prayer, research, conceiving and implementation of a unisex bathroom on the first floor ($43,000) in 2023. Both have been major projects that, thanks to our Board of Trustees along with the careful guidance of our Church Administrative Council, are now almost complete. I also want to point out that our annual Lenten Candy Egg making project, with its history dating back to 1987, has again added significant financial support to both projects. The 2024 Lenten Egg Project has supplied $32,912.43 in profits to both projects. A tremendous amount of thanks to ALL that worked to make the 2024 egg project another huge success. This should inspire all of us to help with this project and ensure its success in the years to come. Our Finance Committee determined, as well as our Church Administrative Council, that the proceeds of the Egg Project would go both to the paying back of the remaining roof debt ($12,000) to ourselves, with the rest of the proceeds ($20,912) going towards the new bathroom, or affectionately known as the “Relief Fund”. In addition, we have raised (as of 5/19/24) $24,100 in faithful giving towards the Relief Fund (bathroom). These two Trustees initiatives could not get off the ground without sustained prayer and reliance on a good and gracious God. Also, your sustained prayer, giving and faithful support continue to be felt. In 2 Kings:22, King Josiah was restoring the Temple and entrusted the money and the supervision of that project to the church leaders and people. “Entrust this money to the people assigned to supervise the Temple restoration. Then they can use it to pay workers to repair the Temple of the Lord” (NLT). And, in Proverbs 16:3 Solomon wrote, “Commit your actions to the Lord, and they will succeed” (NLT). The future of Jesus’ Holy Church is in, and always has been in God’s sovereign hands, however, the work of His church is still to be done until He returns. As your pastor, I thank you and I praise Almighty God for using me here at Glenmoore United Methodist Church for such a time as this.

In Christ,

Pastor Dan
