Pastor’s Newsletter: October-December 2023
October-December 2023
How are you viewing the world these days? Are you viewing it with an eye towards eternity by focusing your attention perhaps on the needs of others? Jesus sacrificed himself for the sins of the world. We must learn to live selflessly rather than selfishly. Scripture says in Matthew 25:31-40 that at the Judgment those who fed the hungry, gave drink to the thirsty, clothed the naked, cared for the sick, and visited those in prison will be rewarded as if they had done these things for the Lord Himself. In Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus teaches “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” NKJV
We are coming up on the end of the year here at Glenmoore Church and we have several things that we are planning to do here. Things that will address our current needs as a congregation and also impact those people that will come after us. As we develop our eternal perspective, we want to turn our hearts towards the needs of others. Our mission is to increase the Kingdom of God by always looking to Him for our perspective. Let’s turn off the invasive sounds of this world so that we might hear the sounds of another place and another voice.
Our mission at this church is to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, cloth the naked, care for the sick, and visit the prisoner now…and well into the future until Jesus returns and reigns over all the earth. Serve as you are able with joy. Give faithfully and generously with no strings attached. See the future, with all its challenges and excitement. This is our mission. This is our promise.
In Christ,
Pastor Dan
